I know this site is usually dedicated for more vegetarian friendly foods, however I do make these for the two non-vegetarians in my household - my hubby and 18 month old daughter. They both LOVE these and I make them quite frequently. So while I hesitated posting to keep this site very vegan/vegetarian/flexitarian friendly, I do like to add foods that I DO actually make for others and this is one of them.Read More
A delicious and VERY simple preparation for one of the most amazing vegan chili’s I’ve done so far! Beyond easy and really is a way to use up all of your remaining veggies for the week in a very large way! All you do is rinse, chop and dump! That simple! You do need a few basics in your kitchen but I’ll take you through how to prepare for that and what staple pieces I keep in my kitchen at all times.
I’ve included my Facebook LIVE video here as well to take you through in greater detail and included the full recipe in this post! I hope you enjoy! Please follow me on Facebook or Instagram for more LIVE recipes to come!Read More
started making veggie lasagna probably 6 years ago when I really started eating plant based and incorporating all the veggies I could into my diet. From that initial lasagna to the current one I’ve gone through several variations and the best thing about it is you can play with it and try seasonal veggies and add noodles, keep them out, anything goes here.
Whether you’re making this for yourself or your kids you’ll find that tastes vary and depending on what veggies you like or what veggies your kids will eat, just keep mixing it up and trying new things.Read More
Ok, you guys I may have made one of the most amazing lentil recipes yet for me and my fam! We're on day 3 now and its a huge hit and SO filling! Usually my husband needs meat in addition to anything vegan I make but this time he's loving it as much as I do! I also paired it with some delicious grain free, naan bread! Ok, so my husband calls them pancakes but they are much more dense and I cut them into quarters and served them with the dal and my, oh my they are fantastic! I consider them a mix taste-wise between corn bread, a pancake, and bread. My husband just says they are pancakes but you be the judge! Either way, they add to the texture, and keep this recipe grain free, dairy free, gluten free, and all the other buzz words. AND they are natural meaning made with REAL FOOD!Read More
I've been wanting to do this a long time and I thought there's no better time than the present, right? We all grocery shop, obviously. We are shop at probably our favorite spots, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Wal-Mart, Costco, Target, online via Amazon or another grocery service, but the point is there are a million places to shop and its where do you get the most bang for your buck? Ya know what I mean? I toggle between stores and really go where I can find the freshest and organic produce, the cleanest food and some things I care about saving the most. However, that being said, the food we put in our bodies should be the most whole and natural form we can find. That is hard to do these days with all of the labels, tricky marketing and etc. Its hard to navigate through a grocery store so I'm going to provide some inside and let you take a look into my Sunday shopping going through everything that I buy, the total cost, and the meals I plan to make with all of the ingredients.Read More
According to my husband, these turned out quite well! It was a dabble in trying to create more "meat" friendly recipes. Clearly as you can see by reading my blog and recipes that I do not eat meat, however that doesn't mean I don't prepare it. My husband is a huge fan of all types of meat, poultry and I do make it for him on the reg! This recipe was inspired by him wanting to eat chicken fingers - don't ask me why he had a craving but he was ready to order from the kids menu using our baby as an excuse to eat them! Rather than him going that route, I decided I needed to try a new chicken recipe - and a healthy one at that - to help him satisfy his cravings:)Read More
This recipe was life-changing for me to change my viewpoint of cod. I mean I've enjoyed some pretty amazing cod at some spectacular restaurants in New York but aside from that, I've never had a thing for it. I don't do fish often and when I do I don't typically choose cod. However, because I was cruising the aisle at the local grocer I noticed some frozen wild cod and thought I'd give it a try. Now this was a challenge because I had to make it tasty! So I came home, went through all of my spices, oils and etc. and came up with a little marinade concoction that actually turned out to be quite delightful!Read More
I think this is one of my FAVORITE recipes when it comes to a healthy pasta version. Its gluten free, paleo, grain free - you name it! Whole, real food! And it tastes like it!
I love real gnocchi from great restaurants where its prepared from scratch, that day. Otherwise, forget it. I love fresh and real ingredients in my food and this is one way to have your gnocchi and not feel an ounce of guilt! Well, depends on how much you each but as you will find this recipe is VERY fillingRead More
