Detox Smoothie

This smoothie belongs here because of all the bells and whistles it has for detoxifying and not with the rest of the smoothies on the smoothie page.

Let’s start with its color, its not the prettiest on the outside, but what will hit the inside of your body will make you glow from the inside out. I truly believe this and SEE it daily!

What you eat, will transform the outside. Your hair, your nails, your SKIN! It will all start to glow!

Let’s start with the super ingredient lineup":

Dragonfruit - this is known for its prebiotic nature which feels the probiotics in your gut. Your good gut bugs need food so this will help support this, which in turn will support your immune system because 70% of your immune system resides in your gut.

Spirulina - one of the most notable benefits is antioxidant support. This will protect your body from all of the free radicals in your environment that you come in contact with everyday. In addition, it is high anti-inflammatory containing vitamins like E,C and B6!

Chia Seeds - an amazing source of fiber to help your digestive health, and also a great source of Omega Fatty Acids and source of energy!

Spinach - I think this goes without saying how important our leafy greens are but spinach is loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

Blueberries - Blueberries contain iron, phosphorous, calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc, and vitamin K making them great for your skin and bones. These are the powerhouse ingredients of the smoothie but overall drinking these you can almost see immediate results with glowing skin. I’m always amazed and the power of fruit and veggies in anti-aging and overall health.

I don’t know about you guys, but I love knowing about every food I put into my body, especially the noteworthy ones! Its so helpful to me know what all of the benefits of the foods I’m eating so that’s why always try to mention or note them in what recipes I create.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup frozen dragonfruit

  • 1-2 cups fresh spinach

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1 date

  • 1-2 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1/2 frozen banana or papaya

  • 1 cup water or more if needed to get desired consistency.

Directions:

Combine all ingredients into mixer or blender and blend well until smooth. Use more water to create a smoothie texture to drink on the go or use less water for a thicker or more of an ice cream consistency.
