Peachy Beet Blended Juice

I’m very into juicing and figured it was time to start sharing these on my blog! While this may not technically be a smoothie, its a blended juice and therefore much thicker so I consider it a smoothie for reference!

I made this today after finally getting my menses back after about 18-20 months! It was a rough one and I felt very anemic so I wanted to incorporate some beets into my diet today as they help build blood and loaded with nutrients like magnesium, potassium., vitamin c and iron so they are great to include these during that time of the month!

I tend to also retain a LOT of water during periods and have my whole life - like I’m talking 5 + lbs! So eating veggies and fruits, drinking lots of water is KEY! That’s why juices are great for this because you can just drink your nutrients!

I also added turmeric into this as anti-inflammatory is always good so why not play into the orange color with some turmeric!

It doesn’t mater what you use to blend your juice. I personally love my Vitamix, but its not essential and a blender is just as good! So feel free to use what appliance best suits your needs.

As far as water, go as little or as much as you want. I love frozen fruits and veggies in these juices and end up adding a lot of water so it lasts a long time! If I’m taking it on-the-go and its sitting in my car for a bit its good because it just stays cold so much longer and ends up thinning out as time goes on.

Now for the recipe and directions!

Ingredients:

  • 2+ cups of filtered water

  • 1 cup frozen organic golden beets

  • 1/2 cup frozen organic peaches

  • 2” hunk turmeric peeled

Directions:

  1. Add beets, peaches, peeled turmeric and water to your blender. Blend till smooth adding water as needed. For the turmeric, I just use a veggie peeler and peel the rough exterior off of the turmeric and throw it in the blender.

  2. Pour into container and enjoy frozen and take it on-the-go!
